Speedy Fuels is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to maintain our operational fleet based at our West Drayton depot.
Our fleet includes up to 20 fuel tankers (articulated and rigid) and a fleet of Transit vans, supporting our national fuel distribution operation. Vehicles are predominantly DAF.
You will be responsible for day-to-day servicing, inspections and repairs, ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant and roadworthy, while liaising with external service centres for major work.
This role offers real ownership of fleet maintenance. We are looking for an experienced technician who takes pride in their work and can manage their workload independently — no unnecessary micromanagement.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
Conduct vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
Repair or replace worn or faulty components
Ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and roadworthy
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
Liaise with external service centres for major repairs or specialist work
Follow workshop safety procedures and company standards
Essential Requirements
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Experience maintaining HGV fleets, ideally including DAF or similar vehicles
Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
ADR Certification – Tanks / Class 3
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or similar recognised qualification
Ability to work independently and take ownership of fleet maintenance
